It can be a challenge to bring a little life into the “concrete jungle,” but where there’s a will, there’s a way! No matter how urban the area is that you live in, there are things you can do to invite birds, bees, butterflies, and other wildlife onto your balcony, patio, rooftop, or wherever else it is that you happen to have a few containers. It’s as simple as providing the four things all animals and insects needs: food, water, shelter and places to raise young.

I’ve been trying to bring wildlife to my patio since I moved here a couple months ago, but it’s been a battle! I have a few birdfeeders and just made my own bird bath, but for being a major urban area, birds sure are shy. I just keep adding plants that birds and butterflies like and hope for the best:)
Summer–If you can convince your neighbors to get in on the wildlife-friendly action, that might help create a bigger footprint for the birds, bees, and animals to notice.
