This past weekend I attended my cousin’s wedding. It was a beautiful wedding, overlooking a lake and officiated by a family friend, so the ceremony was filled with personal anecdotes. The bride and groom looked very dapper and happy. They danced beautifully, my cousin twirling his new bride around on the dance floor…All-in-all, it really was a very nice wedding. Even more so because the flowers were stunning! The bride and groom took their vows in front of an iron arbor covered in blue delphiniums and orange Asiatic lilies. A bold, fun color combination.
Anyway, the reason I am allowing myself to get swept up in the romance of the wedding is that the colors and flowers reminded me of a container I designed for a client recently. I thought I would tweak what I did for my client a bit to incorporate the colors of the wedding, and make it into a container recipe to share with you all:
This pot will work great in a full sun to partial shade spot (in partial shade, the calibrachoa and osteospermum won’t bloom as profusely). It is on the water-hungry side, so do keep the soil moist (but not soggy!).
I’ll have to post a photo of my client’s pot later. It looks so pretty with calibrachoa flowing over the side and the bacopa intermingling with the osteospermum and calibrachoa.

Sandy — I was just over there today working on something else. Darn! I should have taken a photo. I’m going to be doing a lot of work for that client, so I’ll be back soon and be sure to take a pic.
