Variegated Succulents…Who Knew?!

in Succulents and Cacti

After seeing Louise’s post on her latest succulent container, I decided to see if my Home Depot had gotten in a new shipment of succulents. And they had! With three varieties of succulents I had never seen before.

I love variegated foliage. I appreciate it when a plant is more than just a flash in the pan with gorgeous flowers and nothing else to offer. These are definitely more than a flash in the pan.

Aeonium arboreum ‘Tricolor’

Aeonium spp.

Crassula obliqua ‘Tricolor Jade’

These are gorgeous! I don’t know if you have a BJ’s near you but I was there the other day and they had all kinds of succulents and cactis. The ones they have are for indoors though.

Those are pretty! I have a sedum that is dark green and red on the edges -(wonder if that counts as variegated?) It’s outside and keeps getting leggier, but comes back every year.

Louise — Thanks! BJ’s the pizza place? If so, there are a bunch around here, but they don’t have cacti and succulents.

Julie — It was the first one I saw and really caught my attention!

jgh — Some sedums seem harder than others. I have one that is only happy with the precise right amount of water and sun. One drop too much or too little, or one minute too long or short in the sun, and starts pouting.
