The Life on My Balcony – February

Since I always forget to take pictures of my balcony in time for Garden Bloggers Bloom Day, I’ll just report on what’s happening on my balcony on the day after GBBD. That is, if I remember. ;-)

My apple tree is blooming right now. Not sure if any fruit will develop because we’ve had a weird winter that induced the tree to bloom several other times in the last three months or so.

I potted up the plants Annie’s Annuals sent me to test their new shipping materials a few weeks ago. I decided to nest a smaller pot in a larger one to create a two-tiered pot. This will make it easier for me to swap out the salad greens without disturbing the peas.

Last, but not least, this is a tiny tomato seedling has just popped up. He’ll be the leading actor in a new video I’m working on abut starting seeds indoors. I’m including lots of tips I’ve learned from my master gardener classes.

Lots going on in your balcony! I like the collage at the beginning of the post. Good portrait of a point in time in the garden.

I love the way irises look when they start popping out of the ground. They are so blue-green and cheery.

Can’t wait to see your seed starting video! I’m just on the verge of my first ever attempt at starting seeds indoors.

I’ll look forward to your seed starting video. I’m a newbie and have never started seeds (indoors or out) before. Do you know of any resources for outdoor seed starting?
