This is such an easy way to enjoy corn. A lot of times I’ll make it ahead of time and just throw it on the grill when its time. By the way, you can grow corn in a container!

Makes 4 servings
- 4 ears of corn
- 4 tablespoons of butter at room temperature
- 4 teaspoons Italian seasoning (or the spice of your choice)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 sheets of aluminum foil
Remove the husk and silk from the corn. Spread each ear of corn with 1 tablespoon of butter. Follow with 1 teaspoon of seasoning per ear. Sprinkle salt and pepper to taste. Wrap in aluminum foil.
Grill for 20 minutes (turning once) on medium heat.

Yes, you can grow corn in a container, but it takes up so much room and puts out so little I (personally) don’t think it’s worth it. It might be fun to try, but there are so many other veggies that are much more prolific in containers.
BTW, grilled corn is my absolute fave summer food, and I do it in a very similar way to this. (Though I’ve also had it grilled in the husk, which is also great.) I hadn’t thought of Italian seasoning; I’ll have to try that.
Fair enough. I tend to be an adventurous gardener who likes to grow odd things just for the heck of it. So things like growing corn in a pot are fun for me. But you’re right. It’s not all that practical. That being said, it doesn’t take up that much room. And if you combine the three sisters in the same pot, you get a lot of productivity for the square footage.
