Hey Angelenos! Need something to do this Carmageddon weekend?! I will be speaking at Eat Real Fest on Saturday at 11 am! I will be showing off a new pallet garden with gorgeous butterfly and bee friendly plants, as well as talking about smart ideas for small-space edible gardens. I have free plants to give away. Please come! The festival will be an absolute blast, I promise!
Also of interest at Eat Real (I know I will be checking these out!) are:
- Shopping Cart Gardens
- Chickens with Mohawks (hey, this *is* LA!
) - Make Seed Starter Cups with Toilet Paper Rolls
- Honey Tasting from Backyard Bee Keepers
- Learn How to Forage for Food in So Cal

I loooove the Oakland Eat Real Fest, and am excited for you that you’ll be speaking at the one in LA! Wish I could be there.
Thanks Rebecca! I now know why you loved the Oakland one so much. AWESOME event! I had so much fun talking about urban gardening.
I really enjoyed your lecture yesterday; I walked away with a lot of great information and such a pretty plant! Looking forward to your (hopefully) upcoming speaking events in the LA area.. thanks again, Fern!
Thanks Alyx! I’m so glad the presentation was useful to you. I will be speaking at a similar event in September at Santa Monica High School about vertical gardening.
I missed the lecture, too bad. But can you do some facts about butterfly and bee friendly plants here? For those who missed your presentation, like me..
