Life on the Balcony Flickr Group – Find Some Inspiration!

in Inspiration

In case you haven’t heard, there is now a Life on the Balcony Flickr group where readers of LOTB can share photos of their own container gardens and cheer each other on as we work on creating awesome container gardens on balconies or patios. So far, we’ve uploaded a “before” shot of our gardens as they looked at the beginning of Spring, and a self-portrait in our respective gardens.

The challenge for today is to take a photo of a container garden created by someone else. Try and walk around your neighborhood and see if you can spot a fellow container gardener extraordinaire. Or maybe check out a local nursery or public garden for some inspiration. Be sure to tell us where you found the subject of your photo.

Here’s my submission:

These hanging baskets of sorts were photographed at Rolling Greens nursery in Culver City, CA. Aren’t they neat? I think it would be really cool to hang a bunch of these at different heights. Maybe use them as a privacy barrier of sorts.

Nice!

I saw a rounded topiary ball similar to this last year in a garden center but it was done with cuttings form a jade plant. Yours Looks pretty awesome.

MrBrownThumb — What a neat idea! What did they use for the “trunk?”

Love those balls! Amazingly cool! Makes me want to run out to the potting bench!

Aren’t they awesome, Kelli? They would be a great way to use up some Jade plant cuttings after the mama plant gets a trim.
