Reading this just made me love you more, and I didn't think that it was possible to love you more than I already do. Tonight when I go to sleep I will thank G-d for giving me such a wonderful daughter.

Hi Fern, it's nice to know a bit more about you. :-) I'd love to know the name of that magazine you don't buy anymore. I can think of several that might fit into the category. [God forbid you do anything as pedestrian as plant carrots or zucchini. Oh wait...seeds from a special plant at the monastery in the Pyrenees you visited on your last trek? We may grant you a pardon.] There seems to be a trend towards snootiness in gardening publications which I find rather disturbing. It seems to trace back to the rise of Martha Stewart ("oh yes, I do the garden" and then we come to find out she had six full time gardeners on that spread full of peonies and roses). When I need a dose of reality I'll read old issues of Sunset (go back to when the Lane family still published the magazine...it was chock full of great gardening info), Organic Gardening, or Horticulture.
