I’ve found myself using Facebook to keep track of my favorite gardening blogs more and more, and using my feed reader less and less. It’s nice to consolidate the number of sites I visit daily. I’m already on Facebook to keep in contact with my brothers, cousins, and friends who have moved out of the area, so it is super convenient to find links to great blog posts there too.
Here are the garden blogger’s I’m a fan of on Facebook. I think you’ll enjoy them too:
- Our Little Acre: Gardening adventures (with photos!) from Northwest Ohio. The crazy cat lady in me especially enjoys seeing Kylee’s kitty photos.
- Gardening by the Book: This is a realtively new page for a relatively new blog, but I really enjoy Kylee’s efforts to alert gardeners to great garden books.
- MrBrownThumb: I’ve mentioned MrBT before, I love his blog, which is jam packed with practical gardening advice.
- BGgarden: Bren does a great job of mixing in links to interesting gardening sites with her own photos and blog posts.
- Gardening While Intoxicated: Elizabeth’s blog was one of the first I discovered when I realized there was such a thing as a gardening blogosphere. I’m glad to have recently found her on Facebook too.
- Gardening With Confidence: Helen is a garden coach, she regularly updates her Facebook fan page with educational posts.
- Indigo Gardens: A great collection of links and photos edited by a professional garden designer.
- Shirley Bovshaw’s Garden World Report: Shirley has recently started a TV talk show where she interviews all sorts of interesting gardeners. The shows are published only on the internet. It’s a lot of fun!
- Plant Avenue: A novice gardener who blogs about her gardening adventures.
- Geno’s Garden: Another page with a nice mix of photos, info, links and her own posts.
- Anarchy in the Garden: My friend Adriana who doesn’t update her Facebook page very often (nudge, nudge!)

Hi Fern – I’m a huge fan of Life on the Balcony. I follow you on Twitter and Facebook and I listed you in my blogroll on Slow Family Online. I also have a Facebook fan page you might want to know about. It’s about slowing down and enjoying nature and lost arts with family and friends. A lot of what I blog about and we discuss is gardening — our triumphs and challenges. I’m a Northern CA deck gardener, so we follow my container garden and the creatures in my local woods. There’s also a lot about fresh and seasonal cooking, making jam, crafts, holidays, seasons, farming, and ways to enjoy nature.
