All geraniums (really, they're pelargoniums) are easy to grow. There is no difference in care based on the color of the flower.

Is red Geraniums as easy to grow as pink ones? I have a container full of pink ones from my father's funeral and they are very easy to take care of. I have a iron post in the front yard, I have 3 Iris plants and a small stick of Lilac, do you think red geraniums would work there too? I also have a large white container that is currently empty right now, and is begging me to put something small in it, the problem is it is big, and there are not very many drain holes in it. What kind of small flowers can I put in there that are Hummingbird friendly?

Fantastic idea putting together a list of these plants. Selecting and breeding compact durable plants for containers is my passion and I am really delighted to see this site. Please see a wee article on our website on the subject.

I was super-jealous to see varieties of VERY dwarf peach trees recently - like 3' tall dwarf. Definitely good for containers. Unfortunately here in the redwoods of CA we only get enough frost hours for a Frost Peach, and I didn't see it growing on the reeeealy dwarf rootstock.

I like Halle Jolivette flowering cherry, too. Teeny tiny and looks great in pots.
