I just spotted this video promo of Debra Baldwin’s latest succulent book called Succulent Container Gardens. I have been excited about this book since I saw the cover several months ago, but this video has really got me salivating. The photography is gorgeous, and the combinations of plants and pots are stunning. I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy!

UPDATE: The book is on the shelves. I repeat, the book is on the shelves! You can order Succulent Container Gardens from Amazon or your favorite bookseller.

Definitely follow Debra on Twitter or Facebook so that you’ll know when her book comes out (sometime in February). I can’t wait to read the book and get to work creating beautiful succulent containers. Of course, I also hope to review the book here too. Can you tell how excited I am? A book, container gardening, and succulents pretty much hits my trifecta!

Hi, Sweet Fern — Your enthusiasm delights me. Good news, the book just came out this week! Amazon had it as a February release, but that was in case there were production delays. I am very proud of it. Timber Press will send you a review copy.

I’ll also send you my photo CD of 350 photos of succulent containers—images different from those in either book. I had thousands of photos to choose among, and winnowing them down was challenging. My new book, Succulent Container Gardens, has about 320 photos. I put the other really good ones on a CD for people who might like even more ideas.

This is so serrendiptious. I was reading the seminar schedule for the Northwest Garden Show this morning, and Debra is giving one of them on…. you guessed it, succulent container gardening. I thought to myself, “That is awesome.” and then here is your post about the same book. It’s a sign I need to bump this up in my library request queue.

Thanks for the good news, Fern and Debra. I am also looking forward to reading Debra’s new book. I am actually reading her previous book, Designing with Succulents, right now because I am in the process of designing a succulent garden for my backyard. I can wholeheartedly recommend it, it’s so full of both inspiration and information. I am sure her new book won’t disappoint.
