As We Ponder the Winner of the American Presidential Election…
I ask you, what would John McCain and Barak Obama plant if they were container gardeners? Economy schmonemy. Plants are where its at people!
Okay, just kidding. The economy is a pretty serious issue, as are others. As the first polls close in the East, I want to go on record as saying that I hope we can all move forward tomorrow, regardless of who wins. If my guy wins, great! If he doesn’t, the world will keep on spinning. We all love America, we just have different ideas about how to improve our great country. The other side isn’t “evil.” And we still have plenty of things in common, like small balconies/patios that we stuff with plants. Politics isn’t the be all, end all.
Lets all sing a preemptive Kumbaya! ![]()

Hey…I like the way you think!!! I am all for this…all working together and planting neat plants everywhere! LOL
Julie — Sing with me, Kumbaya my Lord….
I agree… can’t wait until this is over.
Louise — You and me both. I am so tired of being bombarded with phone calls and advertisements. I look forward to *just* thinking about my family, job and garden.
Just a note I won’t publish any negative political comments, regardless of point of view or political persuasion. This isn’t a political blog, and there are plenty of places to say critical things. Maybe I shouldn’t have stuck my toe in the political waters, it was just my hope that Americans could embrace each other as simply Americans, not Democrats or Republicans. And enjoy each other’s company because we have a common hobby, regardless of our political beliefs.
I’m relieved it’s over, too. McCain and Obama both gave gracious and come-together speeches yesterday, and I’m relieved to be done with the robo-calls and the signs everywhere.
Gen — Me too!!! My husband and I stopped answering our phone, the calls were borderline harassment.
Now that is a “boxers or briefs” type of question
So what do you think? Will we get a victory garden on the White House lawn?
Jen — LOL.
A victory garden on the White House lawn certainly would be interesting. I’m all for it so long as it is not an expensive publicity stunt, like the public victory garden in San Francisco.
Many garden bloggers posted about the election. I was very interesting in reading all the perspectives. And I might say, they were all positive.
Tina — I’d venture to guess that the reaction was mostly positive because most garden bloggers were supporting the winner.
